Leaking taps are one of the most common plumbing problems in any house.

Faucet / tap leakages can be classified as:
1. Cannot close the tap at all. Water will flow continuously, you can only shut off the mains water supply to stop the leakage.
The spindle of the tap is broken and has to be replaced.
This is because too much force is applied while closing the tap.

2. Tap does not close fully, there is some leakage of water even when it is closed.(dripping tap)
The visor of the tap may be damaged or worn out , it has to be replaced.

3.There is some leakage of water from the tap when closed and when opened, the water does not flow out properly.
There is some gap between the outer casing of the tap and the inner spindle. The inner mechanism is covered by a tape to prevent leakages.
